AquaFit4Use, the biggest project on Industrial water Use within the EC framework programme, is nearing its end.
After four years of close collaboration between Industries, Universities and Research institutes big steps have been made in sustainable water use in the industry and we are proud to present the results of this work at our End congress that will be organized at 8 and 9 May 2012 in Bruges (Belgium).
During the End-Congress solutions are presented for important questions around sustainable water use in the four most water using sectors, Chemistry, Paper, Textiles and Food. Thanks to the large industrial participation in the project – two third of the 34 partners are industries, both end users and suppliers – the research carried out was for a big deal very applied, with a lot of pilots at location, working on real problems often by combining existing and new technologies . But also new technologies are developed for specific but for the sectors common problems, like bio fouling and scaling, treatment of saline stream and toxic components. Finally attention is paid to modelling and the development of a Water Quality Management tool, to help with getting more insight in the water quality demands and the opportunities of your water system
Based on the positive results various industrial companies participating in the project are already implementing the new solutions in their production sites.
This end congress will be organized in conjunction with ISUP 2012.
