International seminar on valorization of technologies
Fundación Canal, Mateo Inurria, Madrid, Spain
21 June 2011
One of the main challenges in the process of commercialization of research is the difficulty for the valorization of the technologies developed within the framework of research projects funded by different public administrations that, linked to the difficulties in access and search for funding, restrict their incorporation into industrial tissue.
Therefore, the valorization strategies of scientific results are necessary to make research profitable and increase the value of these results in order to facilitate its transfer to the productive sector effectively. The valorization of technologies can be defined broadly as the creation of economic and social value from knowledge and scientific capabilities. The valorization function would imply, therefore, all actions necessary to ensure that research results contribute to economic and social development in the most efficient way.
The objective of this seminar is to raise a meeting point around the different strategies implemented by national and international agencies around the commercial exploitation of research results, to identify methodologies and procedures referenced at a regional, national and international level.
