The “Future of European Waters” conference, held in Budapest on 24th and 25th of March, brought together the academic and policy communities to discuss the long-term challenges we are facing with respect to freshwater management in Europe. Rob D’hondt, member of the EWP Water Stewardship team, presented the European Water Stewardship scheme as a participatory and operational approach towards Sustainable Water Management (SWM) involving water managers, economic actors and stakeholders of various sectors.
